Quarantine (NC16)

hmmms, i guess its pretty obvious im going to blog about this movie. (: went to amk hub with a friend ytd(whom i cant name for some reasons), and decided to catch this show! okay, ever since i saw the trailer the other time at The Cathay, i've been waiting for it to come out!


okay, i put NC16 there at the title is not because im trying to say those below 16 cant watch, but i agreed with my friend that this movie should be rated M18!



Nvm, enough of all these. well this is the plot of the story line, grabbed from GV.com :


Television reporter Angela Vidal (Jennifer Carpenter) and her cameraman (Steve Harris) are assigned to spend the night shift with a Los Angeles Fire Station. After a routine 911 call takes them to a small apartment building, they find police officers already on the scene in response to blood curdling screams coming from one of the apartment units.

Unbeknownst to them, a woman living in the building has contracted a rare strain of rabies. After a few of the residents are viciously attacked, they try to escape with the news crew in tow, only to find that the CDC has quarantined the building. Phones, internet, televisions and cell phone access have been cut-off, and officials are not relaying information to those locked inside.



I myself would rate this movie 4.5/5 if you're looking for one movie which is thrilling, gore and horrifying enough. (:

the remaining 0.5 goes to the fact that the it makes your eyes a little uncomfortable at the end of the movie cause it's screened through a videocam. makes u a lil giddy at the start.






Thrilling, Gory, Horrifying enough?


yes, i would say to these 3. Well, i remember i've once mentioned in my blog that i cant take Gory movies. and this made me swallowed my own saliva for a few times throughout the movie.


hmms, my friends and i had been discussing about this movie before it was out. some said it was cannibalism, some said its a child who bites, and etc. but NO NO NO! its just a dog which had contracted Rabies (madcow disease or whatever la) which had somehow infected the civilians living in that building.


they usually spread by biting/when their saliva gets into ur body via the eyes/mouth and etc. okay, i shall give u a bit of the movie. an old lady contracted it and she bites people.. and so on and so forth. im not gonna go into detail as this spoils the whole fun. isnt it?


they leave you hanging on that string of tension, makes you want a little bit more each time. there were times when you could even hear the breath of everyone sitting in the theatre with u!


if you're looking for a movie which really made u bite your fingernails, WATCH IT! although the whole thing was filmed through a videocam, it manages to bring u into their climax, the tension on the whole. Jennifer Carpenter was a great actor, i would say. look at her expressions! you could almost feel it for urself.






back to the gore part, they even showed you the bitten wounds with bones exposed to the air! eww, i would say. they usually attack by jumping onto the person, or just sink their teeth into their victim's neck. who doesnt agree that this is gore?!

and yeap. this is the only child in the movie which bites.

well, this is the picture im sure many of u have seen it on posters, web and etc. but throughout the whole movie i've never seen this child. hmm hmmms~

anyways, my friend commented that it's something similiar to House of the Dead, and yeaap. thats about it. again, this movie is pretty good. watch it watch it. but those with a weak heart, i would seriously discourage u from going.


hahah. i guess i shall write till here. judge this for yourself when u walk out of the theatre! i've read a few reviews online and most gave thumbs up! (:

((: hmmms, i wonder if the interview would be successfull as their sembawang outlet is FULL of waitress and waiters already!


the bad part about this line is that.. I HAVE TO CLEAR THE TABLES! T.T ahhhh. see how ba. sadded lei!


anyways,.. i just pushed off the sentosa trip. about the informal red camp. ahhh! i want to go, but im so cash-strapped now! ): see, everything about $$$. ahhhhhh! need to work! i feel guilty whenever i ask money from my mum lor. -.- christmas is coming! another thanksgiving occasion which involves $$ as well. ahhhhhhhhhh!


worse thing is, so many nice movies are coming out in NOV and DEC! ahhh. all the horror movies coming out! like oh-so-finally can? and from the reviews.. they seemed NOT BAD! ;DDD i have like 2 horror/thriller movies in mind now. perhaps im gonna drag someone to go movie-marathon. sadd!


talking about this, i just pushed off another outing today! was supposedly going roller-blading and movie marathon with some of our fellow video-makers. but then.. mum took leave today and ask me to go out for dinner. and also, i have no $$ to go for all these activities! ): see! money again.


argh. had enough. i guess im going blog until here. cause there's surely something to update about tomorrow. hahaha.

look, i mean, this is the wake-up call for all singaporeans. nope, im not asking you not to travel to Mumbai for a holiday trip -.- , but to really increase YOUR awareness about terrorism. okay i know no adults would be reading this but still, i want to blog about it!

for years and years, singapore had usually been free from any terrorist attacks, like bombings or etc, so far. yet. we had always thought that "aiya, spore government very ai zai one laa. terrorism, no problem la. they settle. come we go la kopi. "


okay perhaps that's not you, but sadly to sad, that's the majority of the people who made up this small little red dot. when news came ytd(i knew it just ytd) mentioning about a singaporean held hostage in the hotel (not yet killed), i was chatting with some of my friends + family about this and most gave a nonchalent attitude about it. hmms, perhaps i was one of them.



its like, "oh, they wont kill one laa. other times when sporeans held hostage also nothing happen to them, this time wont die one la."


i mean, its like we are too over-dependent on our fellow government. its not a time to be optimistic about surviving anot, but its the attitude that matters. the nonchalent and ignorant attitude of majority of us. seriously, i guess this would serve as a wake up call to all. when it comes to terrorism, just the government alone cant solve much. i believe what im gonna say would rings a bell, but still, when it comes to combating terrorism, it boils down to each and everyone of us. but given the attitude of many of us (sporeans), how sad is it. isnt it?

JOB HUNTING! (:

went out job hunting with inez, shaun and valerie! its like the second time ever since we went out a billion years ago! :DD okay, i guess this is gonna be a wordy post. oops :x

well anyways, we headed over to the Ritz Carlton Hotel in the early afternoon as valerie and some of them were interested in doing part time jobs for Bouquet. setting up, serving food, waitressing and etc. reached there around 12.15 but we were told to come back at 2pm as it was their lunch hour .____.


with 1hour plus to wait, we decided to find somewhere to sit, while we started drawing circles on the newspaper. OBVIOUSLY, we were scouting for a job over the classified ads. managed to finger out a few but didnt went for any walk-in interview we didnt feel safe about that.


went back to the hotel at 2pm. but before that we were like fools walking around CHIJMES to see if they're hiring. haha. anyways, the manager for Human Resource department sucks lor! ok la, maybe not she, but the hotel is super picky!


To be a part time jober, you must :

#1. No dyed hair (inez dyed her hair)
#2. Hair must be bun-ed up. (my rebonded hair!)
#3. No fringes allowed ($#^&)
#4. Black shoes, beige stockings (uniform provided)
#5. A FREAKING LOW PAY OF $4.50 or $5.


though im not very interested, i did pass my application form to the person. BUT! i was put off by #2 and #3. and so i decided to tell her i withdraw my application. inez started having 2nd thoughts and hence she withdrew hers as well.

went to Orchard afterwards. (((: hahaha. the place i wanted to go. im more interested in sales! (: Flesh Imp is only hiring full time jobers. so sad. and hence we headed back to Far East Plaza!


everywhere we went, its either Not hiring, or hiring Full-time jobers only. .___. okay lahhs, part time jobs offered at one or two shops. but their pay is at a freaking low of $4~$5 per hour. how to live with that! anyways, here's something funny.


we were walking around on the 3rd floor, asking around at any shops which seems DO-ABLE. then they passed by the Milly's hair extension shop, and on the glass panel they wrote they were hiring. so..

Shaun : "ehh, this shop is hiring people who do customer services lei"
Me : *still walking then.. "huh?"
Inez : "ehh, come see come see. maybe can do here lei"

THEN. i realised it's Milly's. LOL. the shop where i did my hair extensions. i was trying to look away cause i saw the guy [who did my hair extension] near the door there, doing hair extension for a customer. BUT HE SAW ME.

okay, he looked pretty stunned, then smiled. eh not bad. he remembered me! LOL. i told inez they all he was the one who helped me do extensions and they were laughing away la! mean. ok la, but they aint hiring anymore people.

went to places like Pasta Mania to try ask for part time jobs. their manager very friendly! (: he said that he would let us work at sunplaza if we join, for our convenience. we agreed to go down to sunplaza for interview tmr but we decided to pangseh them again. LOL. cause their pay is just $4.50 per hour. T.T

ok laa, walked many other places before heading home. didnt manage to find any good jobs, not even at northpoint. may be considering working at City Chain, but that depends =\

think i wont be blogging much about the details except for the highlights through these 2 days. and also, pardon my lousy 2 megapixels phone and most of the pictures of people are blurry.

the night when they had a JELLY-Eating competition.

perhaps jervis had a relatively large mouth cause he won 2 times laaa! think they gobbled down 20+ jellies that night. even the student leaders (SLs) joined in!

okay, Day 2 was rather boring(not much highlights) but yet we had lots of fun! i simply love their cheers. anyways, ngee ann business school is so so so tempting for me! okay, i know that isnt the right word. but i cant find a good adj for now. :x


DAY 3

Day 3 was a day with mixed emotions. We were very high but yet at the same time, sad.
cause its the last day!! After visiting the School of Engineering, we mostly had Finales, Mass dance, Chronicals of the tribes and many more (((: shall elaborate more, but pictures first!

HIGHLIGHTS HIGHLIGHTS!


nope, not the mass dance.
neither the skit for the Chronicals of tribes,
nor the lame and yellow jokes of the emcees.

its that, WE BROKE A WORLD RECORD!


it is about a group of people coming together and FREEZE! for a minute. haha sounds lame, but never in spore had anyone tried this before! and together with 1161 people, (should be) we hold this record! with each of us's name in the Guinness Book of world records! :DD


and besides that, i guess, centurions tribe were the highest tribe that day! apart from the Cheering competition which decides the winning tribe where we got super high and screamed at the top of our lungs, we ran up the stage during mass dance! LOL. ok laa, i go one by one.

we were pretty pissed off by other tribes which apparantly had no brain juice to come up with their own cheers and copied ours! ahhhh. angry angry. then, we came up with a cheer or two to get back at them. simply awesome!! hahaha.

im not acting cute, but those who went for the camp would know. hahaha.



Mass dance!

okay, instead of staying put at our place and dance, we (cchians) formed a line and rannnnn, zipping through the crowds and other tribes! and of course, people started to join in a line and rannn. total craziness. you know, those kind where we put our hands on the shoulders of the person infront of us. :D


song was repeated twice, and so when it was repeated for the 2nd time, we ran up the STAGE! the stage where all the student leaders and emcees were doing their dance. hey, they allowed ok! and so, we ran infront of them, infront of the cameras and emcees and zipping through here and there on the crowded stage! super high. we were still singing the song as we ran. LOL.


Dinner time!

as we finished dinner early, we did the same thing again. WE RAN EVERYWHERE! LOL. with our tribe cheers and many others, we invaded other tribe's territory and people were like saying : wahh, centurions again!

LOL. its hard to put down in words but it's like, MADNESS can?! but, PEOPLE JOINED IN THE FUN! shout until alot people lost their voices and the student leaders also buey tahan us. XD

well, we were waiting for the Zouk personel to set up the convention centre into a club. and things got bored. CANT BLAME!

seriously, i think the people from Zouk really did a great job for the setting up the plain convention centre into a "club" or rather, a dancefloor! the atmosphere was there and it was simply great :D


we were just standing right infront of their speakers and sound system and everyone started to PARRRRTAYEEEE. :D those songs blasting their base, ahhh. funnnn. you know, its pretty interesting when it comes to clubbing.


you see, everyday in class we see each other as the "100% teacher's lovable students" who are like so demure and gentle. except for me, i must say -.- . but when it comes to clubbing, even those who dont know how to dance can also sway to the beat lor. no doubt, i saw my friends getting high! hahaha.


sinren and shuting really danced well. ((((: the guys were super jealous cause we pangsehed them and we dance away the night for like 2whole hours! basking ourselves in the beat. hahaha. high high high!


then sinren said something when we went out : "now then i understand why people go clubbing when they are frustrated."


yes! i agree with her. its like under the influence of the surroundings and most importantly the songs, its like u forget about everything ! and sinren kept saying she's gonna lose her piece of mind. hahah. lots of fun things laa! but im just gonna cut short (:


went home at around 10.30 that day! (((: i know there were some people who teared as the finale for the camp came. although its just 3days, we bonded alot with the student leaders and emcees.


however, we didnt bring home just the knowledge gained of the different courses, but the friendship and memories which would be kept in our heart. Each friendship forged between strangers of you and me, would be one of the greatest things found and collected during these 3 short days. (:

oh yes, back to the pictures. hahaha. went to their conventional centre which had turned into something like this. LOl. used to be flat ground. and everyone was uber uber uber HIGH! kept hi-5 with alot people whom we do not know. and everywhere was so misty laa! [special effects]


and we also kept saying : " ehh, like got concert hall like that lei! "


while waiting all the others to get settled, the leaders are like super enthusiastic and friendly! counted down to the start of Red Camp 5 and the whole place went dark. and guess what...

opps, i forgot about today's lunch. KFC! their so called Western Cuisine. felt so cheated! tomorrow's gonna be Italian Cuisine! my fave Breeks! anyways, went back to the conventional centre after the whole day, and had a mini contest. The tribe which im in - none other than Centurions ( :DDD ) didnt win the competition thou. so lost the winning tribe of the day. SADED! ):

this was actually a short video taken by some leaders. its actually the short dance which i've mentioned earlier on. just ONE set of 8-beats. and they took pretty long to teach. but well, this time we have to consider those who has no dance basics! ((:

so now.., WHERE exactly did i went to rebond my hair?

actually, i went to my friend nicolette's auntie's house to do rebonding. i didnt did my hair at a salon. (: just that the auntie changed her balcony area to become a small hairdressing place. (: you must be thinking its pretty weird huh? that's my first thought as well, dont worry.

i didnt knew about that place until nicolette brought me over to the auntie's house in Marsling last year. so yea. i think their soft rebonding IS pretty good, for me, at least. if not i wouldnt go back to the same place after a year's time.


&& 2ndly, WHERE exactly did i went to do my extensions?

Its at "MILLY'S" at a shop in Far East Plaza. I dont think i need to say where is far east plaza :x as from what i know, there's are two MILLY's shop in far east plaza. The one which i did (the smaller shop) is at #02-83. but im pretty sure there's a bigger shop on the third floor.


I WALKED PAST THE BIGGER SHOP THAT DAY! but i couldnt locate it afterwards when i decided to do my extensions -.- so just walk around the 3rd floor alrights. not at any ulu corner.

point to takenote : there are other shops doing extensions on the 3rd floor as well. but they charged more per strand, about $1.50. moreover, Milly's a new shop, so i recommend there if you girls are interested. Hope i managed to clear your doubts. (:



by the way, dont be mistaken, as im not doing an advertorial for Milly's.
Just that it happened to be my prefered choice (:

well, some of us had signed up for a Red Camp organised by Ngee Ann Polytechnic. there are different groups which we will be assigned to, and mostly the people from our school got into the Centurions group! which is yellow groupp laa :x checked their blog, and it seems there's gonna be much much much fun with super hyper leaders!


the camp will be just a day camp from TOMORROW 19Nov-21Nov! (: hahah. once im home i'll update my blog. hahah. here's the link if you guys wanna know more about it - Red-Camp.

okay im super random i know.

did my straightening today! (: call it rebonding, if you do not know what that is. just a lil different from rebonding. many had been asking me where i did my hair. hmmms, its actually done at nicolette's auntie's house. not a salon. ((:


anyways, rotted my ass there for nearly 3whole hours! okay i know this is shorter compared to rebonding at salons, but the last time i did was only 2hours! lots of girls turned up today. with and without appointment ones. many of them did either highlighter or dyeing. and guess what? all the girls which turned up today just finished their O lvls!

haha. see, everyone is rushing to the salon to color their hair right after Os XD


i guess you girls must be interested about how much it costs me. well, the auntie charged me $75, which i think its pretty cheap considering my hairlength which reaches all th way to my waist now. the auntie said she charged me cheaper (short hair rates) cause my hair is WAY LAYERED. just that few strands at the back. laughs.

and yes, you must be wondering why i posted these pictures of the Yishun Mrt station.

after the paper, went to had breakfast at burgerking! wanted to go straighten my hair again at Nicolette's auntie's house in marsling. but then the auntie said she wont be free today cause she gotta help lots of girls do their hair for their prom night!


with nowhere to go, we went to mrt station to see where we shall go. we spent like almost an hour standing infront of this board thinking where to go! keep on point point point. the board must be full of scratches from our fingernails.


and somehow, from the angle where im standing, the place gave me a very different feeling from before. haha. anyways back to topic, since i only had 2hours of sleep (due to gaming late at night) i pangsehed them! okay okay, first time alrights?! so shiyun and kaiting went to harborfront. and we realised the extention LRT map has lots of funny places!


for example, we saw FarmWay, Oasis, Coral Edge and etc. hahaha. they shiyun was saying, if harborfront got boring, they'll go down farmway to see if there are any farms. LOL.


anyways, im gonna go do my hair tomorrow in the afternoon! haven really planned tmr's activities. since shiyun and kaiting may not want to come out as they wanna hibernate. hmmms, any takers !?

Man dead in Singapore Zoo tiger mauling.

Three rare White Tigers mauled a man to death after he "jumped" into a moat surrounding their enclosure at the Singapore Zoo today as visitors and co-workers watched in horror.

The man was identified as Nordin bin Montong, 32, a Malaysian national who had been a zoo cleaner.

A zoo statement said the "contract worker jumped into the moat at the White Tiger exhibit and was attacked by the three white tigers" at 12.15pm.

"This created a commotion, which attracted the attention of a keeper who was nearby. Simultaneously, other keepers went to the exhibit to distract the tigers in a bid to rescue the worker," the statement said.

Terrified visitors near the exhibit screamed as they realised that the big cats had attacked Mr Nordin. The workers managed to separate the fatally wounded Mr Nordin from the tigers, and vets applied first aid until an ambulance arrived at 12.45pm.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead from injuries mainly to his head and neck.
The Straits Times news website said the dead man started working at the zoo in June. He is believed to have been assigned to clean a separate exhibit on Thursday and was not supposed to be in the tiger enclosure.


The zoo in the statement expressed its heartfelt condolences to the worker's family and said it will 'provide his family with whatever assistance they need during this period.'


Police and the zoo are investigating the incident.
As a precautionary measure, the White Tiger exhibit has been closed temporarily.

i still thought my mum was kidding or perhaps she got the news from some unreliable sources. who knows it turned out to be real lor! poor zookeeper.

guess i still have to consult people regarding some of the html codes. i dont really like a plain grey background, but im still sourcing for one that i like!
